{"id":149,"date":"2017-02-21T00:20:13","date_gmt":"2017-02-21T00:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geekblog.febo.com\/wp\/?p=149"},"modified":"2017-02-22T01:39:20","modified_gmt":"2017-02-22T01:39:20","slug":"pulse-per-second-dividers-overdone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.febo.com\/?p=149","title":{"rendered":"Pulse Per Second Dividers, Overdone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several years ago I designed a little circuit board called the <a title=\"T2-Mini\" href=\"http:\/\/tapr.org\/kits_t2-mini.html\">T2-Mini<\/a> that provides life support for one of Tom Van Baak&#8217;s very wonderful <a title=\"picDIV\" href=\"http:\/\/www.leapsecond.com\/pic\/picdiv.htm\">picDIV PIC-based frequency dividers<\/a>. The idea is to convert the 1, 2.5, 5, or 10 MHz output from a frequency standard to a one pulse-per-second (PPS) signal for use in frequency stability measurements.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t do things in a small way, so I built a rack enclosure (using the <a title=\"Front Panel Express\" href=\"https:\/\/www.frontpanelexpress.com\/\">Front Panel Express<\/a> service to hold 8 T2-Minis.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s really cool is that an Arduino Mega 2560 using a repurposed <a title=\"TAPR TASS\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tapr.org\/kits_tass.html\">TAPR TASS-Shield<\/a> board controls the T2-Minis.
